Press release -
SUNOTEC Becomes Super Partner of Teenovator
January 23, 2025, Sofia
SUNOTEC, the largest integrated solar solutions provider in Europe, joins the team of mentors and jury of the Teenovator programme in Bulgaria designed for highschool students.
Starting January 2025, SUNOTEC will become a Super Partner in the Teenovator programme, where businesses support highschool seniors with guidance, experience, and mentorship in developing their own startup projects.
SUNOTEC will also support Teenovator through its SUNOTEC Foundation by donating BGN 15,000 for the development of an information system, which will significantly streamline interaction with students within the programme and prepare them for work and communication in a real-life corporate environment.
Kaloian Velichkov, managing partner and CEO of SUNOTEC, commented on the partnership with Teenovator:
"Both in the creation of SUNOTEC and its management, I revolve around the same qualities that are not even professional but personality traits – initiative, the courage to try and err, curiosity, forward-thinking, boldness, and predictable reactions based universal human values – kindness, understanding, empathy, and reason. These are the people who are the most valuable to us, and they gradually become the best professionals. These qualities are cultivated even before our careers begin. That’s why it’s important for SUNOTEC to have access to young people and talk to them about these fundamental concepts, in order to help them set the right foundations for their careers and businesses.”
SUNOTEC will be active throughout the academic year of the Teenovator programme with guest mentors in five cities where the company develops its projects: two clubs in Troyan and one each in Vratsa, Razgrad, Yambol, Stara Zagora, and Pernik. Senior level managers will also partake as jury members during the Teenovator Ideas Weekend at Sofia Tech Park on January 25-26, and in the Grand Final on May 31, 2025.
Elitsa Videnova, Executive Director of the SUNOTEC Foundation, held a special session with students on January 16 on the topics of social economy, corporate social responsibility, and the importance of planning and developing businesses with consideration for all social groups, the environment, and meaningful causes. Elitsa Videnova's expertise will be available to Teenovators throughout the academic year.
"Thanks to Teenovator's Super Partner SUNOTEC and the partnership with SUNOTEC Foundation, we have the opportunity to broaden the horizons for Teenovators, guiding them toward successful career realization and the positive changes their generation will unlock. When visionary companies like SUNOTEC support Teenovator, we not only strengthen our organization but also gain the opportunity to elevate the programme to a new level and achieve the dreams that drive Teenovator forward,” says Zornitsa Mitkova, Managing Director of the Teenovator programme and founder of the Teenovator Foundation.
In addition to mentoring students, SUNOTEC representatives will be available to participants on January 25 in a series of 15-minute meetings to answer any questions that may interest young Teenovators. SUNOTEC will assist students through vis-a-vis meetings, lectures, and on-site visits to operational photovoltaic and hybrid plants, as well as in projects under construction. Students will have the chance to learn firsthand how a major project is executed — from the initial idea, through to design, financing preparation, construction, commissioning, and sometimes even sale.
Throughout the academic year, until the end of May, the company will conduct lectures and seminars on the topic of “Green Energy and Sustainable Ideas” and will provide four articles with practical advice from the world of big business. The first article, Five New and Highly Demanded Professions in the Energy Sector, is already live on the Teenovator website.
SUNOTEC’s participation as a Super Partner of Teenovator is part of the company’s and its foundation’s overall concept of raising awareness among young people about the benefits of green energy, sustainable business practices, and opportunities for work and development in the energy sector.
