SUNOTEC Wins “Building of the Year” Award for Its New Multifunctional Business Centre
[Sofia, Bulgaria, 18. December 2025] – SUNOTEC announces that its new administrative and logistics complex in the area of Stochna Gara has been awarded “Building of the Year” in the office category, one of Bulgaria’s most prestigious recognitions for architecture, urban development, and sustainable construction, presented by Building of the Year Bulgaria.
The award was officially accepted by Ivan Prodanov, Managing Director of SUNOTEC Property and SUNOTEC Machinery, who represented the company at the ceremony, alongside SUNOTEC’s key project partners, Irkon and Partners (design) and Barrage Group (general contractor).
Architecture That Reflects SUNOTEC's Identity
The multifunctional business building, spanning an area totalling 12,720 sqm, reflects SUNOTEC’s role as an integrated solar solutions provider: functional, innovative, and sustainable, while remaining deeply human-centric.
The architectural and functional concept is based on a clear ambition of creating a living working environment where people feel connected, inspired, and supported. The complex is not merely an administrative building, but a multifunctional business space designed as a home for SUNOTEC’s culture, vision, and energy.
The exterior and interior design fully embody SUNOTEC’s corporate visual identity, integrating brand colours, logo elements, and inscriptions throughout the space. As a company operating at the forefront of renewable energy and environmental development, SUNOTEC implemented advanced green construction technologies that significantly reduce energy consumption, optimise resource use, and demonstrate SUNOTEC’s commitment to the green transition.
A Vision for Urban Regeneration and Sustainable Growth
The SUNOTEC complex stands as a compelling example of modern, sustainable construction and a clear demonstration of how thoughtful architecture can act as a catalyst for urban regeneration. Strategically positioned within a central industrial zone, the project marks the beginning of a visible transformation of the Stochna Gara area, unlocking its long-term potential as a contemporary, integrated urban hub where business, logistics, and community coexist. With this development, SUNOTEC is bringing together business functions, logistics infrastructure, and future residential environments into a cohesive, dynamic urban ecosystem.
Designed with strong sensitivity to its urban context, the SUNOTEC complex represents a successful synergy between architecture and logistics. Through high-quality new construction and contemporary urban solutions, it brings new value, identity, and modern character to a previously underutilised industrial zone.
“We believe that the future of cities lies in the revival of industrial areas. This project is our first step towards initiating a long-term process of renewal around Stochna Station, combining sustainable development, modern architecture, and social responsibility. Receiving the ‘Building of the Year’ award is a strong validation of our vision to create spaces that put people, efficiency, and sustainability at the centre,” said Ivan Prodanov, Managing Director of SUNOTEC Property.
Design Partner: Irkon and Partners Ltd.
The project was designed by Irkon and Partners Ltd., whose team developed the concept around a careful balance between functionality and aesthetics, a key requirement for building in an industrial context. The SUNOTEC buildings express a distinct identity with subtle sophistication, without contradicting their surroundings in either massing or materiality, supported by close client dialogue and a collaborative design process.
General Contractor: Barrage Group Ltd.
The construction was delivered by Barrage Group Ltd. as general contractor, bringing strong coordination across all phases and trades to achieve high quality within tight timelines, supported by structured management, digital tools, and strict quality control. The result is a modern, energy-efficient complex integrating advanced systems and high-performance façade and structural solutions, built to retain and increase its value over time.
Looking Ahead
SUNOTEC’s long-term vision remains focused on sustainable growth, technological innovation, and regional expansion. The company continues to invest in renewable energy projects, advanced technologies, and integrated services, reinforcing its position as a leading partner in the energy transition across Bulgaria and the wider region.
The “Building of the Year” award is not only recognition of architectural excellence, but also of SUNOTEC’s broader mission: transforming environments responsibly and building a more sustainable future, from within and beyond.
